GRR KETTLECORN

Much as I tried to resist, I gave in to the sweet cravings that is called Kettlecorn.  I cheated today not in a good way but I try not to punish myself because I am entitled to cheat once a week.  The bad thing is I got too busy to work out.  So I will try to get my workout done first thing tomorrow maybe even before breakfast, so it's out of the way.

Anyhoo, so for breakfast today, I had my same oatmeal with dried cranberries (you can make a batch ahead of time and store it in the fridge because it does take long to cook the pesky steel cut ones).  I also had a banana after which tied me over until lunch.

For lunch I had the ground turkey that I made a couple of days ago, some kale and a little lite sour cream (abt 2 tbsp) on a 1/2 a greek pita.

Then the kettlecorn.  For dinner, I had a chicken caesar salad with dressing made from greek yogurt base.

I know it sounds pretty healthy but because I didn't work out, it wasn't to good.  So there's always tomorrow!

DAY 3 - CLEAN EATING

For the third day, I had the same breakfast, oatmeal with dried cranberries.

For lunch, I decided to have baked mahi-mahi.  So here's the recipe.  Spread about 1 1/2 feet  of aluminum foil on the counter.

Arrange the fish on the lower half and season with lemon pepper, pepper, and a tsp of soy sauce and squeeze a slice of lemon and lay on top of the fish.  Then place slices of yellow squash and zucchini then seal.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

SECOND DAY -CLEAN EATING

So foodwise, was the same as the first day.  For dinner, I had a chicken Caesar salad with greek yogurt based caesar dressing.

For the workout, I walked 3.5 miles at 19 min/mile like a little speed but not too much to protect my back and knees.  Once back home, I did a 25 minute yoga for strength and stamina.

See you tomorrow!  Some more healthy recipes thats super fast, easy and yummy!

BEGIN LIFESTYLE CHANGE TODAY - EATING CLEAN

SO, the juice fast went pretty well, although I was only able to replace 1 or 2 meals with juice per day because of the migrane headache that I suffered that first day.

I continued to eat healthy, trying to stay away from sweets and fatty foods with very good results.  I tried to stay away from my vanilla frozen yogurt and chocolate sauce but not very much success,  I cheated.

So Tara (my daughter) and I decided that today will be the start of our eating clean and heavy work out.

With my grocery list, I headed down to Trader Joes and got some stuff that I can't get from a regular grocery store.  I ended up with some nice Mahi-Mahi fish immediately frozen from Alaska as well as some cod fish.  I also grabbed some quinoa, brown basmati rice and brown wild rice.

It was close to lunch but I was hungry so I just had about 5 crackers with some pine nut and garlic hummus.  It tied me over until I got done preparing lunch.

So, for breakfast I had a 1/2 c. steel cut oatmeal with some raisins and cut up a small fuji (sweet) apple and 2 tbsp of peanut butter with a cup of coffee. Total 222 calories.

For lunch, I sautéed some garlic, chopped onions, and ground turkey.  Then I used some Dash lemon pepper spice but I also added pepper.  I added 1/4 of a packet of Onion Soup mix for more flavor.  Then I cut a greek pita bread in half, toasted it in the toaster oven.  I spooned about 1/4 cup of the turkey mix on the toasted pita bread, topped with about 3 tbsp. of lite sour cream and about 1/4 c. of kale on the side for greens.  It was fantastic!  Total 265 calories.

Sorry no post for dinner, I had leftovers.  45 minutes of yoga if you are interested on what workout I did.

Enjoy in the meantime.

DAY 2 OF JUICE FAST

Ok, second day of the fast.  This morning's movement was very cleansing.  It felt like a lot of toxins released.

Since I am just replacing one meal today, I will not call it a fast just yet.  I had a half a bagel and coffee (decaf)for breakfast, a small lunch and then a little ice cream for a snack.

Tonight I replaced my dinner with a juice.  I used bananas, apples, blueberries, almonds and water.  It was good.

I also did 25 minutes of yoga and it seems to be rejuvenating.  Also, again I took a nap this time I ended up taking a two hour nap which made me feel awesome.

Now back to the drawing board.

DAY ONE OF JUICE FAST

I have decided to go on this journey to better health.  Sounds cliche I know but being halfway thorough life I found that my body is not responding kindly to the crap I feed it

For one, I am such a chocoholic!  Love it like a feen.  But if I continue to love it, I might as well invest more money in pharmaceutical and maybe even the dreaded Obamacare.  Since I cant fight city hall. I feel it is time to take charge of my well-being.

In order to make myself disgusted with chocolate, I decided to have a big slab of the huge chocolate cake to-go from cheesecake factory last night's leftover.  I mean it was a huge one! I am pretty sure I will miss mu coffee too but if my mind makes it easy for me to get through the first few days then I should be ok.

So CHEERS!

Update:  The whole rest of the day was pretty successful.  Toxins are a bastard I must say!  I felt sluggish all day.  My cells literally jumping out of my skin it felt like.  I took a one hour nap that I can compare to 8 hours of deep sleep because I woke up rejuvenated but very feverish.

At the end of the night, I had a migraine headache.  I also felt really bad so I succumbed to a 1/4 of a bagel.  Perhaps my system cannot be shocked too much. My headache went away after that and I was able to sleep a deep sleep.

Analysis:  Based on how I felt, I must have had a huge collection of toxin because my body rejected every turn until I gave in.  But don't write me off just yet.  Maybe my body is telling me not to shock my system so quickly.  I decided tomorrow I would replace one meal.
